Replicant is made from aluminium duct piping and LED lights and will sprawl, virus-like along the western face and front of the factory building, emitting a low lit, blue glow. | | 8 Apr | Traditional Irish Music Awards Cork Opera house, Cork, Cork |    | | The 10th Annual TG4 Gradam Ceoil (Traditional Irish Music Awards) will take place in the magnificent setting of The Cork Opera House, Cork City. Receiving a Gradam Ceoil is one of the highest honours that can be bestowed on a traditional musician and this year's awards will be presented at a televised Gala Awards Ceremony and Concert where the winners will be joined by a host of special guests. These include Liam O Flynn, Sean Keane, Paddy Glackin, Arty McGlynn and Rod McVey, Paul Brady, Danu, The West Ocean String Quartet, Jim McGrath & Pat McManus, Paddy Cronin, Jackie Daly and Donal O Connor, Dara Ban Mac Donnchadha, Fiachna O Mongain and family and Kevin Corbett. | 12 Apr - 29 Sep | Seamus Murphy Centenary Season Various, Cork, Cork |    | | To mark the centenary of the birth of renowned sculptor Seamus Murphy, a series of celebratory events will take place in Cork from April to September this year.
The Seamus Murphy Centenary Season will include various exhibitions of his work as well as photographs and tools in venues such as the Crawford Art Gallery, Cork City Libraries and the Cork Public Museum. | | 13 - 20 Apr | Handel Festival 2007 Temple Bar, Dublin City Centre, Dublin |    | | Temple Bar Cultural Trust is delighted to announce details of this years week-long Handel Festival which will take place in the historic quarter of the Old City of Temple Bar and other city centre locations from Friday 13th April - Friday 20th April. Conference by Loïc Cery, introduced by Roger Little, on Saint-John Perse (1887-1975), a French poet from Guadaloupe and Nobel Prize winner for Litterature in 1960.

The conference will be in French, with the possibility of question and answers in English.
Followed by a wine reception.

Through this exceptional exhibition, “Looking Beyond the Façade-Façades et Ouvertures”, Fiona pursues her exploration of these fascinating ideas focusing on the beautifully proportioned buildings of some of France’s towns and the distinct city of Vienna with their abundance of visual delights.

| | 20 - 22 Apr | Feile Atha Da Chab, Ballydehob Traditional Music, Song, and Dance Festival Various, Ballydehob, Cork |    | | The aim of this nonprofit weekend will be to promote traditional music in the village and the surrounding area. The weekend will feature workshops from master teachers in button accordion, flute, bodhrán, and fiddle. Instrument teachers include Jackie Daly (former member of De Dannan and TG4 Musician of the year 2005), Colm Murphy (former member of De Dannan), Garry Walsh (critically acclaimed flute player who specializes in playing tunes lost through emigration), and Seamus Creagh (legendary fiddle player). | 23 Apr - 7 May | Roots Beanstalks and Growing Up Wexford Arts Centre, Wexford, Wexford |    | | The current project is based on the theme of growth and includes work by Barrie Cooke, Tom Molloy, Thomas Ruff and Vik Muniz. Children from nine Co Wexford primary schools have been involved in a range of projects connected to the theme. In Roots, Beanstalks and Growing Up a selection of this work will be exhibited in the Wexford Arts Centre alongside works from the IMMA Collection on the same theme | | 27 Apr | Tribute to Christopher Lynch Rathkeale House Hotel, Rathkeale, Co. Limerick |    | | The Rathkeale Community Arts Group presents a tribute to Rathkeales famous tenor, Christopher Lynch on Friday, April 27 at Rathkeale House Hotel. This will be a special concert with Limericks tenor Michael Nash, Carmel Conway Soprano, The McCormack singers from Limerick and Jean O Brien, accompanist.
The concert will be followed by dinner.
A great night of music is promised.
Rathkeale Community Arts Group is celebrating its 10th birthday and has organised many events for 2007 as part of its ongoing programme of supporting and promoting the arts in the town.
