The curator of the exhibition Catherine Lampert, specialist on the work of Freud, a model for the artist’s friend Frank Auerbach and former Director of the Whitechapel Art Gallery, will be available for interviews. Essays from the catalogue by Catherine Lampert and art critic and writer, Martin Gayford, are available, as is a wide selection of images. | 27 Jul - 26 Aug | Lapsus Exposure Irish Museum of Modern Art, Dublin, Dublin |    | | The first showing in Ireland of one of the most important works by the internationally-acclaimed Irish artist James Coleman. The slide installation, Lapsus Exposure, 1992-94, is one of a trilogy of pioneering works by Coleman from the 1990s, acquired by IMMA through funding from the Heritage Committee of the National Cultural Institutions in 2004. The work will be shown in the Great Hall at IMMA, following the successful showing of the first part of the trilogy, I N I T I A L S, 1993-94 in the Great Hall in 2006. The final work in the trilogy, Background, 1991-94, will be shown in 2008. | 16 Aug - 16 Sep | Dublin Toy and Train Fair Clontarf Castle Hotel, Clontarf, Dublin |    | | At this fair one can find diecast models by Dinky, Corgi, Minichamps, Vitesse, as well as construction sets by Meccano, Bayko. Also lead soldiers by Britains, Crescent, Trains by Bachmann, Hornby, Triang, Trix, Wrenn, and Marklin. Antique dolls, Comics, and TV/Film annuals from the 1940s to the 1980s. Jigsaws, Teddy Bears, as well as the collectable Beannie Babies. Also plenty of books and catalogues by famous manufacturers. One section of the fair will be devoted to the beautiful world of furniture for miniature dolls houses. Another new feature of these fairs is the inclusion of a section which is dedicated to the wonderful world of the Steiff Bear. Two new English dealers now attend regularly, bringing with them beautiful examples of these fine bears, which are a joy to behold as well as to own.
| | 18 - 22 Aug | Artworks: Original and Screenprint by Ronnie Wood Project Office, 2 Exchange Street Upper, Dublin 8, Dublin, Dublin |   | | Ronnie Wood will unveil over 50 new and established artworks and screen prints in his hometown of Dublin on the eve of the Rolling Stones Concert at Slane Castle. The Exhibition runs from the 18 -22 August at the Project Office, opposite the Dublin Castle and admission is free.
An array of paintings and etchings will be on show ranging in subject matter and style including rock stars, landscapes and animals. Ronnie’s celebrated portraits will also be a centerpoint of the exhibition capturing, The Stones, Jack Nicholson, John Belushi, Bob Dylan, Billie Holiday, Bob Marley, Marvin Gaye, Miles Davis and Jimi Hendrix.
