| 3 - 7 Oct | What the Butler Saw The Kingston Hotel, Dun Laoghaire, Dublin | |
| Set in the world of a fashionable London psychiatrist’s clinic, the normally sterile surroundings become a bedlam of gender confusion, mistaken identities, clothes strewn asunder and sexual intrigue. When the less than reputable Dr Prentice takes a very medical approach to interviewing an aspiring secretary he sets in motion a serious of events that make it harder and harder to hide his true intentions.
Hailed as a modern comedy every bit as good as Wilde’s ‘The Importance of Being Earnest’, Orton’s play is a truly classic sex farce that keeps up an almost relentless stream of great one liners.
The Blue Moon Theatre will be opening their new show, ‘What the Butler Saw’, in the Kingston Hotel in Dun Laoghaire beginning October 3rd and ending on October 7th.
There will be no performance Friday October 5th
What the papers said about the play
‘A breakneck comedy of near operatic complexity…this is wicked humour shown off to it’s best effect’ Four Stars, Metro
‘One of the funniest farces I’ve ever seen’ – The Observer
‘I urge all those theatergoers who have never seen this classic play to catch up with it.
It’s sheer pleasure’ – The Financial Times

Just underneath this hill lies the Causey Farm, which every year entertains brave visitors with an experience they are unlikely to forget. It is a unique venue for such a festival, for in the middle of the farm lies a deserted house, which has been haunted for more than two centuries. |
